The Vent Carbon Sole® has two long airflow channels that deliver cooling air to the feet on hot days. For four-season comfort, the Vent can be closed.

The Vent Carbon Sole® is 38 grams lighter than the Carbon Lite Sole® while maintaining the same stiffness.

To test the rigidity of the Vent Carbon Sole® SIDI engineers hung a 50kg (110 lb) weight from one shoe: sole flex was measured at only 1.4 mm.

The Vent Carbon Sole® is specifically engineered for high-performance, high-mileage cyclists, with tremendous stiffness for maximum power transfer and some controlled flex in the toe area that biomechanically relieves stress on the plantar tendon and helps promote circulation.

The Vent Carbon Sole® is handmade exclusively of sheets of T700 carbon fiber in a 3k weave pattern (competitors’ carbon soles have little carbon fiber content, or use cheaper, lower-modulus T300 carbon fiber).

Sheets of T700 carbon fiber are laid up by hand at opposing angles that maximize resistance to mechanical stress and allows for a slight amount of controlled flex in the toe (a typical layup schedule uses 0° for unidirectional strength, 45° degrees for torsional stiffness, and 22.5° for impact resistance).
